Before you arrive

We are so excited to welcome you to ARU College, it’s an exciting time in your life and like most things, you will need to plan ahead, and get yourself organised.

Pre-departure checklist

Arrange your accommodation

When you arrive in the UK you will want to make sure that you have somewhere to come to and settle in. Book your accommodation before you arrive in the UK. This means that when you get here, you don’t have to worry about finding somewhere in a hurry.

Applying for your visa

Please make sure that you apply for your visa well in advance of your move to the UK. To travel and study in the UK for longer than six months, you must apply for a visa under the Student Route. To find out more on how to make a successful visa application, read our handy visa guide.

Book your flight and transfer

Make sure you check what day your orientation programme will start to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the great welcome activities organised by ARU College’s fantastic student support team. All arrivals into the UK must continue to complete a passenger locator form.

Check out societies

Joining a club or society at university is a great way to meet new people and get involved in all that ARU has to offer. There’s a wide range of societies to get involved with from the Nigerian Student Society all the way through to the Law Society. Check out the student union to find out more.
