ARU Shines in The Guardian University Guide 2024

The Guardian University Guide 2024 league table, which ranks institutions by subject, looking at areas such as student satisfaction, has once again recognised ARU for a variety of subject areas such as Sports Science, Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism, English, and Education. ARU College offer both undergraduate and postgraduate pathways into a variety of degrees in these disciplines.

Sports Science

ARU was ranked 10th in the UK for Sports Science (The Guardian 2024). ARU College offer BSc Sports and Exercise Science, BSc Sports and Exercise Therapy, BSc Sports Coaching and Physical Education, and BSc (Hons) Strength and Conditioning with Rehabilitation all available with a Foundation Year pathway. Students studying sport science at ARU are based in the state-of-the-art Cambridge Centre for Sports and Exercise Sciences. There is also the opportunity to complete an optional placement year.

Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism

Ranked 7th in the UK by The Guardian 2024.

At ARU College we offer BSc in Business with Events Management, taught on our Cambridge campus. A career in events management opens up a world of possibilities, from becoming a top events and marketing manager to an event organiser, a skilled PR executive, or even a wedding planner. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in these dynamic fields. Again, there is also the opportunity to conduct a placement year with this degree.

English

ARU’s English degrees have been ranked 11th in the UK. An English degree is a popular choice and can equip students with a wide range of career options. At ARU College, we offer both BA English Literature and BA English Language and Communication with Foundation Year entry. ARU Language and Literature research was awarded ‘world-leading’ status in the Research Excellence Framework 2021. ARU English degrees are taught by a team of expert lecturers who are dedicated to their academic and professional growth. For international students, we also offer Pre-masters in MA English Literature.

Education

ARU Education degrees have achieved a prestigious 7th place ranking in the UK. At ARU College, we offer BA Primary Education Studies and BA Early Childhood Studies (Graduate Practitioner). Students are taught in Chelmsford, where they have access to an impressive Early Childhood Resource and Research Room filled with toys, games, and equipment, allowing students to experience the world from a child’s perspective. With placement year opportunities available, Primary Education and Childhood Studies graduates will be well-prepared to make a positive impact in the field of education.
